hmmm data transfer over USB causes Windows to hang, CPU spikes, then the pc slows down, internet connection drops and the usb drives connected disapear, a quick reboot and its its fine.

It seems to ONLY happen with OUTBOUND data - either copying data to my SD card, usb pen driver or my main USB backup drive, and not all the time.

I recall reading a simiar error during beta somewhere and was hoping it was solved as is the exact same issue... if i can find the thread!

Hmm seems a bit odd. Based on the info I'd suspect the chipset drivers. Are there any updates on the manufacturer's site?

yeah there are updates, however when i run the update it says it will only update one of the drivers for some reason, i seeing on google it could be my card reader, just testing now

I had an issue with an internal card reader connected via internal usb header, would cause random blue screens and crashes, ever since i disconnected it i have had no errors at all, not sure if it is related to your problem but sounds similar.

Chris.

yeah looks like that was my issues, i disabled in device manger the 4 indervidial readers and that solved my issue. The card reader was a generic one and connects via a header. Not sure why the issue is there as was fine in Vista. googled and found other suffers, crazy how it brought the whole system to a halt. Now i just enable the card slot i need at the time of using it. which is quite rare to be fair and no hard ship.

bios update?

i'd be lucky with shuttles, there like slugs with updates!
