USB <-> Serial adaptor for switches

Hi All,

My old laptop had a serial port so no problems.

Now my replacement laptop only has a USB port so I need a reliable USB to Serial adaptor. I've had them in the past and they've been pretty hit and miss.

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable one for Windows 7 for me to access switches and other similar gear.

Or switch (he he) over to x series 3750s, they have USB com ports :-)

Well ahead of you on that one.....but with around 400 switches to upgrade it may take some time for them to sign that off instead of a few quid for a converter!

I use a startech adapter on both Win 7 and XP machines. (StarTech.com)

We're now thinking Hardware refresh to Nexus class Switches - joy.
