Bought a really cheap USB soundcard from the aution site just to see if usch a thing would be what I needed. Works perfect on vista with earphones plugged in sound is good quality, but I did notice that it was VERY loud.
Now what I actually wanted to use this for was a discreet output from my laptop to my amp (headphone socket is on the front, maybe i have a bit of ocd and using a usb hub means i dont have to plug in 4 things everytime i put it on my desk) but when I plug the soundcard into an amplifier the sound is heavily distorted and seems like it's too loud for the amp to handle, though even when I turn the application volume right down the sound is still very distorted...
Anyone know if this would be similar with other USB soundcards, if you have come accross it yourself, or any software/hardware solutions i could use to smooth this out?
