I am thinking of getting a Turtle Beach Micro so that I can connect my Dell laptop to my hi-fi system via an external DAC. Price is ~ £25.00 which seems very reasonable.

Is this a good option?

Are there better solutions?

Looks geared towards gaming and 5.1/7.1 sound?

My set-up is stereo only.

Agreed.

I am now thinking of streaming the music from my PC to my hi-fi system via a SqueezeBox - but this is a much more expensive option. :(
