USB Static?

Hi all! I have a headset connected to a DAC through USB and depending on what webpage/app I have open it will create a high pitch static through the headset itself - which can then be removed by unplugging the USB and plugging it in again.

I had no idea static could carry through USB audio like that, which has left me feeling very confused! Is the remedy a better USB cable? or is there other recommended steps to take as well?

Have you tried a different USB port? If it's the front ports, try the back ones on the motherboard, it'll give you a better idea where the static is coming from.

It's the same front and back which is why it's so confusing, and it's only started happening recently - it was completely undetectable before
