Ok so I plan on buying a decent sized USB stick to transfer some HD files too my PS3 since I cannot stream them at this moment in time, I've got a 8gb file but to my understanding Fat 32 doesn't support anything over 4gb now does this include a file that is already on there I.E if I was to have winrar split the files into chunks then unzip it on the USB stick will it work and have the 8gb file on there ready too transfer over?

Thanks JoeBoi

The PS3 (and 360) are pretty crippled when it comes to large files, external drives, video support, subtitles, etc.. can be a pain to work with.

JoeBoi, what format is the HD stuff, .mkv? If so you'll need to perform a conversion before the PS3 will play it - something like mkv2vob that can do this will also have an option to split the video into parts that'll be supported on FAT32 (ie. less than 4GB). You can transfer the parts onto your USB stick then, you'll just have a pause half way through watching anything over 4GB as you choose the next file.
