USB Switch for KB & Mouse?

Wondering if there is any reason why I would NOT want to use a USB Switch (4 ports from 1 port) to manually switch 4 PCs between one mouse & KB? Bad experiences with MANY KVMs and I have enough inputs on monitors to not need to switch the video sources or audio.

Anyone know if it works?

Clever but that assumes I want to run Windows only.. I dont.. I'll have a Raspberry Pi, a Mac, A Linux Box, A Win Box.
