I have 2 PCs side by side and want to use my Logitech G11 keyboard and G5 mouse with them both.

Is there a box that would act as a switch so that I could direct the mouse/keyboard to whichever of the 2 PC's I chose *without* losing any of the functionality of the two devices (so the extra mouse buttons and the media control buttons/macro buttons of the keyboard)?

Thanks...

I've done that already. What I can't see is info on (1) whether I will lose non-standard functionality and (2) whether each PC is going to puke each time I changed the switch settings. While they look great for, for example, using one iPod dock connected to 2 machines, that doesn't necessarily make them a great idea for keyboards and mice when the frequency of switching could be several times an hour or more.

Buying one is a pricey way to find out - hence my post.

I don't need the video part of a KVM, thought a simple USB device might be cheaper and simpler.

I guess I'll dig out an inexpensive one and try it, I can always go back to twin keyboards and mice.

Unplug your mouse and keyboard and then plug them back in, everything will still be the same. A switch does just that, USB is plug and play.

Except that crawling down beneath the desk a couple of dozen times a day to do that doesn't really appeal! :)

I'll find a switch and keep it on the desktop, much easier.
