I've been tearing my hair out trying to set myself up so I can play games on the PC in the garage from the comfort of my sofa in the lounge. Hopefully someone can spot what I'm missing, as I'm sure this shouldn't be so hard!!
Setup:
Gaming PC in garage
2x Cat 6e cables run between the Garage and Lounge (around 15m each, dual wall socket at both ends.)
PC connects to the internet and LAN via Cat 6 cable to the wall socket in the garage, through the external Cat 6 cable, then Cat 6 cable into a wireless access point in the lounge.
I'm using a Quest 3 which connects flawlessly to the PC and run everything without issue. I've had a long session of HL: Alyx and it was a thing of beauty to be completely wireless.
The problem is, I'm trying to control the PC in the garage with a keyboard and mouse in the lounge. I have tried:
) but both of them pass internet signal flawlessly so I assume they are fine. I do have a cable tester, but using it when the 2 ends are 10m apart, and separated by a building is challenging!
Any ideas??
All I want to do is play games from my PC, on a big virtual screen in the Quest, controlled by my KB/Mouse while sitting on the sofa.

- Plugging the KB/Mouse dongle directly into the Quest (Logitech KB/M) - works a treat on the quest, but not on the remote PC (apparently an issue with Android that won't passthrough the signal) - to be clear, I can use the KB/Mouse on Native Quest Apps on the headset, but they do not work when trying to use the PC remotely (Remote Desktop and Virtual Desktop tried).
- Unpowered USB-Ethernet adapters: Used one each end - nothing. When I ran them in the garage, with a bit of cable between them, they worked fine, but will not pass through the external cable. (assumed it was too long for unpowered) so...
- Powered (alleged good for 60m) usb-ethernet transmitter/receiver. Again, works fine in the garage with about 10m of ethernet between the bits, but will not pass signal through the external cables.
