I'm trying to update an old satellite that's stuck in a boot loop, so I bought a cheap USB to RS232 lead from ebay assuming it would just work, and obviously it doesn't, lol! 
I'm using a Dell XPS laptop running Win 7 64bit Ultimate, is there any way I can get it to recognise the cable and assign a COM port to it? Cheers.
