USB Transfer speed Windows 7

Hello,
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Asus laptop. The setup is: Laptop with my old desktop SATA hard drive in an external case via USB and my 2GB USB Stick. All devices are USB 2.0.

I seem to average 20MB p/s from external to USB key, is this about right? It is faster straight to the laptop and was wondering if anyway to boost the speed otherwise?

That's an excellent speed for a USB flash drive. Nothing to worry about there.

As far as I know, 20 - 25 MB is considered average to pretty good. But I don't really use USB copying much.
