i was wondering if any one has tried any of these cheap usb tv card stick, i.e around £30 and if they have had any look will any and what are they called, as i was thinking of getting one for my laptop. and using a main aerial
I've seen lots of reviews of those cheap usb stick tuners on competitor sites and quite a lot of people say they are perfectly fine, but as always you get the odd couple that whine about them - probabilly because there coverage is bad or they are using the crappy little arial that comes with it.
Funnily enough one of our guys at work is using one of these on his laptop with the little aerial thing that comes with it and he raves about how good the picture quality is. Obviously its gonna be better with a proper aerial connection, but the supplied aerial gives a reasonable pic if you've got good reception.
I have the freecom DVT USB stick and it works perfectly, quality is slightly lower than id like but when you sit at a distance its fine. the only trouble i ran into is that the software didnt like my dual core. You have to go into task manager and set the affinity to one CPU for that process then it works perfectly
