Following from this thread about the older type c design
So the final design of USB type c has been announced ready for production. Main feature is that it's reversible, much like apple's device connector except it will probably be much more widely adopted. Also interestingly, seems they will be making type c extension cables with current type a/b adaptors bundled which is good news for current motherboard users!
Similar size to current USB 2 ports
Small device adoption may take longer (phones, tablets etc)

Looks quite good, no more messing around at the back of your case trying to plug in a USB cable so much, now it will be reversible!
