USB v1 webcams

Hi guys

I recently bought a USB v2 webcam (Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX) and decided to get another so went for the same model. It was labelled as Quickcam communicate STX Plus and priced the same so I thought great its even better.

Unfortunately when it arrived I realised that the 'Plus' version is an older model which is only USB v1. It also doesn't have the 'Right Light' technology.

Will the performance be affected with it only being USB v1? I haven't opened it yet thinking I may send it back.

Well it wont be able to go above about 1.1mb/s so it may.

Depends on how good the new one is, if you are happy with your newer one just take it back and get the same model.

Best not to take a chance if you are happy with your current model.
