Hey guys
This has just happened yesterday.
PC for my sim rig up until yesterday booted fine, now all of a sudden, when I turn it on the gigabyte logo stays on the screen for 30 secs, 15 secs of that it has the chpices for boot menu etc on it, the other it is just the logo.
Then my usb dvoices don't power up until windows has fully loaded, it take about another 15 secs after windows has loaded before I can press the keyboard to enter my pin number.

The only thing I did yesterday was attach two bass shakers to my amo which was already poewerd on and connected to my secondary sound card.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I've had this issue all the time with my Win7 computer. I think its because the number of USB devices, few external HDDs and the USB hubs (multi usb ports and SD card reader) and the keyboard mouse, all prevent it from loading quickly, thats my feeling anyway. Sorry cant actually help, dont know lool.

In the bios you might need to enable an option for legacy usb support. Certainly on asrock boards there is an option that enables usb for the bios.

Without the option you basically get the symptoms you describe and usb only loads with windows drivers.

Some googling suggests enabling these two bios options:

  1. I had to set EHCI Hand-off to Enabled,
  2. This is important: I also needed to change Legacy USB Support from Auto to Enabled.

There is a way in Windows to defer certain drivers from loading - sorry don't know details off the top of my head - my laptop does this when using the optimised boot mode option with the bundled Samsung software so if I use an external keyboard/mouse they don't power up until a few seconds after the desktop has loaded with that option.
