Will a standard wireless usb adapter work with the 360? Or does it have to be the official one? If so, why? Dont really want to spend 40/50quid if I can get away with spending only less than 10!

Only official will work via USB, reason probably being how would you load 3rd party drivers?

However, you can get a wireless access point that connects via Ethernet to the 360, then detects a wireless signal. Most network-type manufacturers make this kind of product.

sorry but i fail to see what is so fantastic.

£60 for a usb wlan stick is a bump whatever way you look at it.

It's good in the sense that it's compact, fits the 360 perfectly and is completely plug and play.

Probably not £60 good though, but MS can charge it as there is no official alternative.

It just works. I didn't say it wasnt overpriced. You can't argue with the ease of use/reception on it though and, as Nismo said, just fits correctly into the 360.

I wish my 360 was wireless now, for the first time ever.

I can't move my 360 under my TV cabinet due to the way my wires are hidden, I cba getting the wires out of the beam hiding them so it won't stretch. :p

the wlan thats in my pc is smaller and only cost a tenner. It should fit the 360 as thats its sole purpose, likewise, it should be completely plug and play!

Anyway, saying that, Ive the official adaptor aswell, not saying it doesnt work well, just saying that it doesnt do anything special.

You can get a wireless access point for under £18 delivered that works via the 360s LAN port. Bargainous! Its not neat but you can tuck it away easy.
