USB wireless adapter over PCI

I've got a WG311T PCI wireless adapter and a Sky DG843G router and they work fine together.
However, I'd like to free up the PCI slot on the mobo. Is the WG111T USB adapter (or any other make I suppose) as reliable?
I did have a Belkin USB adapter in the past and it was absolute crud (crap signal and forever cutting out) so am now a bit dubious over USB adapters.

I'd like to know this too, currently I've got a ASUS USB wireless adapter. The signal is good and it doesn't cut out but in intense online game I often get a slight network hitch for a second or two, am wondering whether a PCI wireless card will make things better, and if so, are they all the same or can you really tell the difference with a more expensive one?
