USB wireless adapter struggling with WPA?

Hi all. I recently changed our wireless security from WEP to WPA and have been having problems since. I'm using a Linksys HU200 USB adapter for my connection (not great I know), and was wondering if maybe it's struggling with the WPA? It was absolutely fine with WEP. Now, i get disconnections every few minutes or so. Repairing the connection fixes it, but sometimes it disconnects before i can even load a page up! I'm using the Linksys software, because if i disable it, Windows can't see any networks  It seems the adapter doesnt work without the software anyway

Also, in the router there's a fair few options, have I chosen the right one?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks :)

Well i'm literally going insane with this now! I've now changed the encryption to 'WPA-PSK' instead of the bottom option shown and i still get the same issue! I even installed the WPA2 patch for XP SP2 as i dont have SP3 installed. I still have the issue when using the WZC and the Linksys utility. I even reinstalled the Linksys driver/utility!

It's bizarre though, as i can connect and browse for anything from 10secs to about 10 minutes! It's not like it's kicking me off because of a wrong setting/pass somewhere!?

Does anyone have any ideas at all, short of buying a new wifi adapter?

Oh God i'm going to put my fist through the wall at this rate. Or my head!

I went and bought another USB dongle today and even though things seemed ok to start with I am now getting exactly the same problem! The only difference is it doesnt seem to actually disconnect me (at least Windows doesnt think it's disconnected), it just crawls to a complete dead stop. I was downloading something and watched it go from ~60kbps down to 0.3kbps. Er.. what?!

Please has anyone got any ideas? :(:(:(

do you have the ssid hidden? if so try making it visible as some set ups with WPA don't like it, although it will work hidden perfectly with WEP.

Nope it's not hidden. I'm definitely getting the same disconnects with this new dongle, that's £15 down the drain :(

I've tried different USB ports too.. I am totally at a loss here! :(

EDIT: This probably isnt useful but it shows the problem.

Ping statistics for 212.58.253.67:
Packets: Sent = 1500, Received = 1436, Lost = 64 (4% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 12ms, Maximum = 924ms, Average = 28ms
Argh!!

Could be an issue with the router and WPA rather than the dapter, model ? firmware up to date possibly a factory reset to clear any settings?

Are you using any particular antivirus software, some (norton for me) really got in the way of setting up a reliable connection

Hmn well i just tried to update the firmware but failed. Havent got time to try it now but surely it cant be an issue with the router because all of my housemates are using it fine. No one else is having any issues

Hmn i'm back at home now and still suffering with this!

I've just found the router logs on the CP and can see this from the last time i got disconnected (about 3mins ago!):
