USB Wiring

I have a USB I/R receiver (MS MCE) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience rewiring the external usb to internal headers ?

Would this work ?

It does work, a friend of mine has done it to his eepc, he soldered a usb bluetooth dongle and a usb flash drive onto a spare usb header on the board.
