hi all i hve a exteranl hardrive when i try to put it in in my computer it wont work but it works on my laptop it is the usb2 on my computer i have a wireless mouse and keyboard and it works in the usb2 on my computer what could be wrong

I had this problem with mine, just check all the cables are fully connected and try another plug. My problem was that the plug socket was on the blink...

Is the external drive detected in device manager?

As above check device manager to see it if is showing, can go from there to sort the prob out.
