Asrock Z68 Extreme7 Gen3 Motherboard. Win8.1 64bit

My USB2.0 port (9 pin Header Bracket Extension back of PC) has stopped working for some reason.

I uninstall in device manager and restarted PC, no yellow exclamation mark beside it now.
Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C26

What is the correct driver to install? and what's the best way to go about it?

Thanks in advance.

was it supplied with the motherboard or was it one brought separately?

what has happened to stop it from working? have you done any hardware upgrades at all or a OS re install at all?

Hi, it was supplied with the motherboard and that's the strange thing, I did nothing at all.
When I noticed it stopped working there was a yellow exclamation mark next to it in device manager. I uninstalled it, switch off PC and started again.
The yellow exclamation mark is now gone and was wondering if I now need to install a driver but what one from the link you provided?

Thanks.

if the yellow exclamation mark has gone now and showing up as normal in device manager then don't worry about the drivers.

you should be good to go on using the USB ports on it, have you tried them yet?

turn the PC off and re seat the cable from the expansion card to the motherboard and see if that helps.

is it still appearing under device manager as installed ok but not detecting anything when a usb device is connected?

Go into the properties of the device, find the Hardware ID and google search that number, it should eventually point you into the direction of the drivers used for it. Download and install those and you should be good.

If that doesn't work and reseating the connections still fails, I would then assume the piece of hardware for it is faulty.

Thanks for your help but reseating didn't work.
Yes, looks like its install in device manager but doesn't detect any USB device.

ok, it sounds like its a problem with the port on the motherboard as you have ruled out the expansion card being at fault., is there another port on the motherboard you could use or does it only have the one?

Update

had a quick look at the manual and can see another 2 USB 2.0 headers (3 in total) you should be able to use, give one of them a try.

if you are unsure of them download the manual from the below link and look at the overall picture, they are running along the bottom of the motherboard, marked in the manual as 25, 26, 27 on page 13

Ok I'm using the PC at the moment, when I get a chance I will switch off and have a look.

Thanks so far.
