Hi Guys,
My PC up to now has been the following spec;
Win XP Pro (SP2 - edited)
Athlon XP3000+
1GB DDR
80GB IDE HDD (windows)
200GB IDE HDD (data)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128
I wanted to up my spec a little, so went for the ASRock 775 DUAL-VSTA so I could keep my AGP card at the same time as moving to a Core 2 Duo (6400).
All went swimmingly, I installed the mobo and CPU no problems. Windows XP Pro runs sweet and much faster. The only issue is that I have some USB issues. My USB Printer runs fine, as do my keyboard and mouse (all USB). But my card reader, and especially Ipod are not recognized. iTunes doesn't see the ipod, despite the fact that Device Manager sees it fine. I can only assume that USB2 is not being supported properly.
I have flashed the BIOS to the latest version (2.40), updated the VIA drivers for each USB root under Device Manager, including the VIA USB2 Enhanced Host Controller, but nothing seems to work.
I have checked the new BIOS setup screens and USB support is enabled. I have also tried it with USB Legacy support disabled and enabled.
My last resort will be to reformat and re-install XP Pro, which I am loathed to do as everything else is running so well and because I'm inherently lazy. I will probably have to do it, but hoped someone might have some other idea before I go ahead.
All the best
