Hey, bit of an odd one, I've always seen USB3 PCI-E cards with either a SATA or Molex power connector, but recently some have started popping up without them like this:
These type of units claim things like "No extra power needed, but with 4 phase power module, each USB port support 2A current" and they obviously have additional power hardware on the PCB.
Anyone used one of these type? How'd it work out?
I know that any slot conforming to the PCI-E spec should be able to provide that power, but always thought there was a reason cards usually acquired their own...
