USB3 header for tight space?

I have recently changed my GPU coolers, and the short version is the USB3 header port on my motherboard is now blocked by one the GPU heatsinks. Although I have the two USB3 ports on my motherboard's back panel these are in use, and now means the two USB3 on the front of the case aren't connected. Granted, I don't use these often but it's bugging me that I have a port that doesn't work!

Has anyone ever seen or know of a USB3 header that has a 90 degree turn in it so lies flat against the motherboard, or any other kind of configuration that means I can connect up my front panel ports? Looking through the usual websites and I can only find ones that plug into the header and stand straight up from the board, which I can't use any more because of the heatsink.

My options, as far as I see them, are:
  • Leave the USB ports on the case unconnected
  • Dremel out the portion of the GPU heatsink that's in the way
  • Use individual wires to connect header to existing header to USB female adapter (does anyone know if this will work with normal motherboard header extension pins, or will they burn out from the additional current USB3 can provide?)
  • Find a connector that has a 90 degree bend in it
  • Other

Any suggestions gratefully received, so long as they don't involve soldering as I CANNOT solder (I've tried, it never goes well). :)

Cheers.

The only one that plugs into a header that I could find was in the states and it looked a right bodge job. I am surprised that these are not widely available seeing as some boards have the headers in ridiculous place.

You could always use a pci-e add on card such as this Silverstone one.

I googled and found quite a few including ones on the bay ?

[FACEPALM] How could I have missed something as obvious as Googling rather than searching all the tech vendors I could think of?!?! Couldn't find any on the Bay but found a reasonable looking one on a decent looking website, so just ordered one to give it a shot. Thank you, and can't believe I was being that stupid!

Unfortunately all slots on my board are now covered/occupied. The Accelero Hybrid II heatsink is nice but two of them do take up a fair bit of room! :)
