In my house I have Virgin broadband. I have my internet connection going from my modem to a Belkin N+ Router. My room is quite a distance away from the router and I have a MacBook, iPad and an iPhone all connected wirelessly as well as an XBox 360 on a wired connection to it.
I also have a spare Belkin G Router. How would I go about using this as an access point so that I had better wireless reception in my room?
I tried before using another guide on the internet but it never worked.

I've used an old Netgear before, and IIRC all I had to do was disable DHCP on it, tell it what IP to use (in the right subnet but out of the DHCP scope of the router) and then plug it in to the nearest switch. Dead easy!

Yup, you need to turn the DHCP off on the second router, make sure the second routers IP address isn't the same as the main one though:)

IIRC my belkin N router had the option in it's main config page to "use as an access point" which turned off the dhcp etc and asked for the IP address I wanted to use (I've got it set to x.x.x.150 where x.x.x.100 is the main router).

Remember to connect to the network via it's LAN port not the WAN one, as by telling it to work as an access point you're disabling the WAN>LAN interface.
