I went through a box of old stuff yesterday, chucking loads of old junk away. Anyways, I came across a box with my old CPU's in. Ive checked eBay, they are worth pretty much peanuts? Anybody got any ideas to put them to good use? Or what do you all do with old parts? Feels a shame to just put them in the bin!

Not sure if any of them are worth anything to any overclockers out there? Maybe one has a good batch?

Other than that, may aswel keep them in a box still lol :rolleyes:

List as follows;

Intel Celeron D 2.8Ghz '03 Socket 478 PHILIPPINES / Batch 7502A901
Intel Pentium 4 560 3.6Ghz '03 Socket 775 CHINA / Batch 5430B53M
Intel Pentium 4 660 3.6Ghz '04 Socket 775 COSTA RICA / Batch 3540B484
Intel Pentium 4 661 3.6Ghz '05 Socket 775 CHINA / Batch 5621A908
Intel i5-3570K 3.8Ghz Socket 1155 COSTA RICA / Batch 3338B716 (Just put this on ebay tbh for £90 posted)

Idk if they are good batches, but they would be fun to mess around with on a p965 chipset board if you had one. I have 100ish of those old pentiums and celerons, but they take so long to bin I cba :(.

For anyone starting out and wanting to do some super cheap oc they would be fine though.

Find a board and see how much voltage they will take before popping. :D

Or make them into keychains and sell those for £££

I still have an old Slot A motherboard with a Voodoo 5 that I had set up for all those legacy games that hadn't quite migrated to 32 bit enough to work with Windows 7. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have survived my recent house move; it failed to POST when I tried to power it up yesterday. Still, if it's not recoverable, I have a couple of 440BX motherboards as backup! ;-)

Loads of creative ideas! I would love to setup a 755 rig and see how far I could push them....a pointless exercise, however! Them old 775 socket chips could cook eggs at stock anyways lol

Dedicated emulation box or mame machine.

Or use free NAS OS to turn them into NAS boxes.

Media boxes or servers.

Chuck them into the smallest mini-itx you can find and you've got yourself a potential retro gaming station or a media player to hook up to tv.
