Use HTC lighthouses with other headsets?

If you added some type of tracking to the headset?.... Possible?

As far as I know there open source, for example the Pimax4K will be able to use them when it eventually comes out, same with the HTC Wands

I may be supplying misinformation here but I thought the lighthouse technology belonged to Valve? It just so happens that HTC signed up for exclusive use for a certain time but now it'll be open again to other headsets.

You are correct, valve owns steamvr tracking. It was opened up in mid 2016

The pimax 4k is already out, i think you mean the 5k and 8k. But yes, pimax is using valve tracking and will work with both current HTC base stations as well as the V2.0 valve ones.
