I know that girlfriend/boyfriend sounds ridiculous when you are in your 40s/50s, but "partner" just sounds like you're a gay.

There must be a better word to use surely?

Oh and the only reason we have this bizarre scenario where both parents work is because of the cost of housing and general costs of living. Personally I feel the older methods of parenting when one partner (usually the woman) stayed at home and raised the child was a much better arrangement than today's main option.

How do we know the cost of housing isnt because of both parents working?

2x the income --> 2x the mortgage --> 2x the house price.

I think people should just say womanfriend or manfriend when they get old enough that boy/girl doesn't sound right.

I've just called the police. You're a homophobic bean.

I've just called the police on YOU for implying there's something wrong with gays. I suppose "gay" is a slur word to you because you hate them so much, but to me gays are pretty much the same as humans.
