hey , i heared recently that Virgin are begining to trace ports for people using torrents...

... i know there are torrent loaders that use the Http port so that tracking what ya downloading would be in some way point less as they *** be going through everything u do online.... is that right?

so is there any way u can set it to use the http port?
I also ask this because it will then also download using more bandwidth right?
with the disadvantage of your net being Ultimatly slower?

cheers
Rob

When you use torrents you publicise your IP address, this gets recorded by any company/organisation that's looking and they fire of an infringement letter to your ISP. Virgin and other ISP's have now agreed to a three strikes policy when receiving these reports, not sure if it's from anyone or just the BPI.

Changing port and protocol encryption will not protect you, they can see your IP.

ok mate thanks for that... so is it just best to pack in the downloads?

sumone must think of a way round this
?
