Whilst having 40 players online in a game is good i.e. RFOM, what isn't good is the fact that hardly anyone uses headsets making it a disappointing experience in my opinion.
Xbox Live on the other hand offers online gaming with a community feel due to pretty much everyone using headsets, yes there are some annoying people on there however when you build up a list of people on your friends list who you play regularly with, thats what makes it.
