The title says it all, I have just been delivevred an used (I was told for a single day only) AMD A64 X2 4800 Toledo. When I opened the box some of the pins were slightly bent.

I was wondering whether this should have an impact on the performance.

I paid the full asking price but did not expect anything like this.

Should I get back to the seller and ask for refund or should I go ahead, straighten the pins out and install it?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Jordan

It won't have any effect on performance. I've bent plenty of pins in my time.. It might weaken them slightly, but if you don't plan on bending them too much they'll be fine. :)

Tanks Street,

In fact I have just straightened them out. Hopefully, I have not loosened them too much.

I forgot to ask whether the stepping CCBWE 0551UPMW is any good and whether I should expect any good OC with ASUS A8N Sli Deluxe?

Cheers,
Jordan

I could not agree more after checking with Google. On the box and on the processor it also says AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800.

ADA4800DAA6CD .

Is this any good that I have the stepping of an Opteron but it is still desgised as an AMD?

dunno best download cpuz from here http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

it will tell you what cpu it is for def. Opteron is a AMD chip , its just a server chip , I think they overclock better than the standard desktop ones (not sure though)

Thanks for the link,

I have downloaded the program. I will install it and will post the information. I have read that Opterons 165 and 170 are good overclockers depending on the batch. Being server chips should mean they are more reliable, right?
