I might be out of the loop on this one but why are RTX4090 used prices going up??? because of the absurd 5090 price?? Apart from the obvious dram shortage is this happening on many components?? i see a lot of stuff ie motherboards are out of stock/pre order, feels like theres something going on i dont know about, no wonder there was no good black friday deals on as stock seems to be minimal, can any shed any light on this for me????

Supply and demand, literally 0 availability.

Same thing is happening with 5090 now, prices creeping up to 3K
 
Also because amd dropped out of
The highest end cards
So no Competition for the best gpus

And because the 5090 is so expensive
But the 5080 is barely better than
A 4080 super And should have had more vram
So people would rather have the 4090 than a 5080

Between the sad state of the gpu market
And ai eating up everything making ram prices crazy
And even starting to affect ssds as companies make more from
Selling enterprise ssds than consumer ones
Now crucial dropping out of consumer products
Its a very bad time to be buying stuff

I'm not saying they are bad cards and that owners aren't happy - they are simply less desirable than others.

Plenty of people want them.

If I was buying a Nvidia card and it wasn't an FE version it'd be a Zotac every single time personally, obviously the second hand market will skew that a bit since the main reason is warranty related.

Nope, nobody wants a Zotac. There are plenty of people that will settle for one though. :D
