Currently fault finding the problem with my main computer which seems to be the PSU by the looks of things, will tell tomorrow during the day.

Either way, been looking around and noticed that the manufacturer of my Digital TV card has released the drivers etc... for vista at long last, so i've decided that once i've fixed it, i'm going to whack Vista 64 onto it and do a fresh install.

Now i've been out of the computer game for a while, so i made a list of the software i would normally install including virus scanners etc...

Just wondering if there are any other vital programs or apps i should install, or if anyone knows of better software than what i have listed below.

Creative Suite 3 Master
Daemon Tools Pro
IMGBurn
iTunes (Have to for my iPhone otherwise i would use Foobar)
Mirc
MPC-HC
Mozilla Firefox 3
Newsleecher
Nod 32
Office 2007
QuickPAR
uTorrent
Windows Live Messenger 8.5
WinRAR

Thanks for your input :)

Do you use HijackThis, Lavasoft AdAware, Spybot S&D?

Another program I'm liking is google talk, basically an IM program that's really simple, not all these silly features like MSN. Most of my friends are on Google Talk now too :)

AdAware and Spybot, really? I dispise them to be honest with you, just as bad as the spyware they say they eliminate

I can't be without:

AI Roboform
ClipCache
Trillian
SpeedFan + Samurize
UltraEdit
AnyDVD
Proxomitron
Minimize Magic
UltraMon
DUMeter

As well as some from your original list.

The programs which are a must for me are:

Kaspersky IS
Ultramon - Couldn;t live without this!!! :D
Opera
Microsoft Office
Paint.Net
SyncBack
Skype

I'm sure there are others but those are the main few

I would swap newsleecher to SABnzbd
Daemon tools to virtual clone drive
Winrar to 7-zip (don't forget to go to tools, options and select the files you want it to handle, needs to be run in administrator mode if UAC is enabled)

Don't forget to get the 64-bit version of iTunes :).

Newsbin pro
regseeker
Ccleaner
driver sweeper
Antivir personal edition classic
Hwmonitor
defraggler
Dvd lab pro
main concept

Ad-aware I would agree is despicable. Spybot is brilliant though. Why do you hate it so?

I dont know I have always had a thing for those type of programs, I mean if you update, install an AV, and dont install silly things you really dont need those types of programs, and I never thought that I would be saying this but I do like Windows Defender!
