Hey guys, since last week had a few random freezes and slow downs on bootup (long time to load applications after a cold boot), i had transported by pc recently and tomorrow i will reseat all my components, ran my normal tools, malware bytes, Nod32 and ccleaner, and also checked my start up programs but all ok. Looked at event viewer but not getting any clues or msgs, just wondering if anyone can recommend a vista 3rd party application that may shed some light or give me some clue as to any software issues that could be there.

have you tried a tool from the manufacturer of your hard disk? that's what i'd be looking at first with the symptoms you describe.

yeah ran the WD quick test and no issues, however i will run the extended one before i go out tonight as it takes some time and i need the pc access, it's running fine at the min, just slow boot up from logging into windows... i don't have much on load up either

not sure what that device error is or how long its been there, but don't think its related
