Useful Freeware Utilities

I had an issue with a KB update for my Windows 10 media server. That particular update would advertise Windows 11 but needed a keyboard response to remind me later. At that point it stopped Remote Desktop from working and I had to physically get access to the PC in the loft to clock that away.
The utility I used to then control my updates, or defer or block them....

WAU Manager, seemed to work a treat.

Does anyone know of a good alternative to packet tracer, but in a browser? I want to do some simple demonstrations for work, however the circumstances are making it difficult to get local software approved for install.

:edit: Free please :p

When I had Win 10 pro on my old build. I made a reflect free boot disc iso. Can I use that to back up my Win 11?
May work fine
I can't remember how many years ago
I had the shadow copy issue

If possible I make a new recovery usb
Every now and then though
For one thing if you have changed hardware
It can add new drivers to the recovery usb/iso

Can anybody recommend a free and lightweight reminder? I need something small and not overly complicated for such a simple task.

Would Google calendar be any use to you? ;) I'd be lost without it these days. You can set reminders easily, make groups up to share events with others, which is excellent for family events and things.

Winhance

Currently testing this
A VERY extensive debloat/tweaking/customisation software
Also allows creating an auto unattended.xml file
with all the settings you applied
This can be manually added to a windows install
Or Winhance can automatically add it to an iso

It can also create a windows iso
And slipstream the xml file and your current installed drivers
Can also manually add drivers that aren't currently
Installed too
Can choose not to add drivers if you want
As this will increase iso size by quite a few GB
Though you're going to need to install the drivers anyway
Once windows is installed

One thing to note
If you for example uninstall edge
A script will be created that will automatically stop
Windows reinstalling it
Should you change your mind in the future
All the scripts can be viewed and removed by clicking help
Top right of the program

Mousing over the various options will explain what they are
Also shows if recommended to enable/disable/set to manual
Theres also some reconfigured presets you can use
Settings can be imported and exported too

Theres also a long youtube video explaining
Everything
Normally i dont read instructions lol
But things like the automatic scripts being generated
Weren't obviously apparent
So the video guides quite useful

Not tested the iso I created yet
But so far would rate this better than the
Chris Titus software

Only feature would like to see added
It allows downloading software
Browsers,zip/rar software etc
Uses winget to fetch them for you
But that part doesn't seem to get added to automatically run
Once windows is installed from your created iso

Winhance shortcut is automatically added though
So you can immediately run it
Then select all the software you want and winget will
Fetch it for you

This software will only create customised isos from
Official Microsoft isos which it can also
Fetch for you
If you try it on an already modified iso it won't work

So far big thumbs up to the guy who developed this
Its good enough to take the time to
type all that lot out
:)
