Just got my Nokia N95 this morning - I've upgraded from a Samsung D600e so the difference is amazing!

Would have been nice to get the black 8gb version or the N82, but I'm only a student and I didn't really want to spend a lot of money and I certainly don't need more than a £25 a month contract. So anyway I got my N95 on t-mobile for £25 a month (Flext 30) and it cost me a tenner which I thought was pretty good since on 02 it wouldn't have been £199 and then free at £30 a month.

Just looking for a bit of help on how to make the most of the phone, I don't drive so I won't really be using the GPS and I'm not interested in paying for Web n Walk as I don't need the internet everywhere - I can use my wireless at home and at uni which covers most of my time.

I'd like to try using the phone as an organiser, so any recommendations for that kind of thing would be great, especially anything in 'GTD' style - or should I just use the included calendar?
And any other essential apps generally really.

Also, how do I find out what firmware version I have?

Cheers,

Felix

For firmware version press:

For useful apps:

RDAccelerometer DLL
Calcium - Excellent freeware calculator. Miles easier to use than the default app.
Y-Browser - Freeware file manager
Profimail - email client
Coreplayer - Plays just about every video file
emTube - Great app for searching and viewing YouTube clips
Lightsabre :D
Mobile GMaps
Opera Mini
Windows Live Messenger
Skype

Thats what I've got so far.

Route 66 software works really well and as the N95 has a GPS built in there's no need for a blue tooth receiver.

there's also an excellent game boy advanced emulator called vBag, runs everything i throw at it albeit with a small amount of audio stutter

Blackballer = blocks calls and sms
Total Recall = records calls
cclock = better clock screensaver
PanoMan = take 12 photos and the n95 stiches them together for a panoramic photo
irRemote = Use N95 as remote control
Sky by Mobile = TV Guide + control Sky+ box from mobile
Accelerinvaders = Space Invaders that users accelerometer
MovingBall = move a ball around with accelometer

All the above work on my N95 8gb
