Hello all,

Was just poking my nose into the Grid official thread over in the PC Games forum when I noticed a few people posting commands added to the .exe shortcut to make the game run with a high priority and I was just wondering if there are other useful commands which can be added in such a way and if so, what are they and what do they do?

To quote Helmutcheese from page 43 of the Race Driver: Grid thread so you can get an idea of what I'm on about:

It is the same for 32bit and 64bit as the game installs to the 32bit folder.

1) Go to your GRID.EXE in the installed location and right click it and send a shortcut to the Desktop.

2) The Desktop shortcut will look like any other game shortcut with GRID's icon, right click it and choose Properties.

3) In the TARGET box add [ %windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /high ] to the BEGINING of the text already there, ending in a SPACE between the word HIGH and the [ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Codemasters\GRID\GRID.exe"]

(IGNORE ALL [ ] BRACKETS, I put there to help seperate info).

I'm on Vista64 and the game is 32bit anyhow, so you should have something like this in the TARGET box.

%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /high "C:\Program Files (x86)\Codemasters\GRID\GRID.exe"

4) Apply and OK it and your GRID shortcut will no longer look normal, it will be a Black and White DOS type icon.

5) Start the game with this new icon and the game will run at a High CPU Priority.

Just mainly out of interest and as a way of increasing my knowledge, thanks in advance.
