I have done a forum search, and it doesn't appear to have been posted before. However, apologies if this is a repost.

There is a useful Vista feature in Windows Explorer, and that is the check box next to the file name. Previously if you wanted to select specific files then you would need to press and hold CTRL. And as anyone knows all your hard work is easily lost if your finger slips of the key. Basically this method you never have to use the CTRL key again. You just select the checkbox next to the file.

To activate

Bring up Windows Explorer
Alt + T (Tools Menu)
Alt + O (Folder Options)

Select View Tab

Scroll down to the bottom, and select
"Use check boxes to select items"
(Usually around 4th to last item)

If you regularly organise your files then this is a Godsend. If you ever use CTRL a lot, then do try this.

Nice, although i would really like it if Vista actually bloody remembered my view settings, such as "group by" and exactly which columns I chose to view.

Vista looks nice but its still got as many niggly points as XP.

I fixed this issue as it was itching my ballsack to no end, what I had to do was delete the BAGS and BAGSMRU keys in the registry and problem was solved! no more folders being forgotten :)

Excellent, will try that when I get home, 1 more annoyance hopefully sorted.

BTW does anyone know how to get xvids etc playing in Vista Media Centre? Have used the vista media pack but it doesnt list them still.

Are u running 64 or 32 bit? If you use 64 there is a special 64 file you need to install after....

running Home Premium 32bit on my laptop.

Did install the Vista Codec pack but when I go back into Media Centre and add the folders to watch I cant find the files anywhere.

Install FFDshow then all XviDs should work.
FFDShow and Haali media splitter are the only 2 video codecs I have installed on Vista and everything works in media centre (XviD, X264, MKV etc) ;)
