Useless with timings...

Hi guys,

I want to buy new memory to add to my current memory.

I have:

MY-026-CS Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2 Pro TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2
(MY-026-CS)

Which are a matched pair. I want to add another GB of memory, another matched pair I guess. What memory do I need that matches the timings etc. of my current RAM? I cannot begin to tell what timings mine has or what I need to have to match it (I have read the FAQ, too).

I have seen this RAM going cheap:

Key Features
Technology DDR RAM
ECC / Registered Non-ECC Unbuffered
Capacity 2 x 512 MB
Bus Clock 400 MHz
CAS Latency CL2
Form Factor DIMM 184-pin
Modules Qty 2

But notice the CAS latency is CL2 - whereas mine is CAS2, so will this not be directly compatiable with mine?

Well, I know pretty much all PC3200 RAM I buy is going to be "compatiable" but I mean one which won't bring down my performance.

Cheers,

My current RAM's timing is 2-3-3-6. If I buy a module of 2-2-2-6, will all that will happen is the motherboard will simply transfer at the slowest timings (2-3-3-6)?

Assuming he has them manually set to the slower settings, if they are manually set to the lower timings, they wont automatically change
