Usenet and the usage of PAR/PAR2 files

Hi guys

Can sum1 explain PAR files. I have downloaded a set of files, but one is missing. How do I use the PAR to sort it out?

Get as many of the par files as you can, and use a program like QuickPar to rebuild the missing files.

Right I have a file with 91 rar parts....part 63 is missing...

I have a file which ends in .par2

I run quickpar and have clicked the autorepair box. it is scanning the files I have and only doen it says I need 25 more blocks..

How do I sort this out?

Download more PAR files relating to the archive you want to repair.

download quickpar, open up the first PAR file with quickpar software and it'll repair everything

But you need more PAR files to repair it.
Most stuff on newsgroups come with enough files to repair 10% of an archive
