Usenet client that schedules

Hi all,

Being extremely new to the usenet world I'm not familiar with the various clients available.

I'm currently using Grabit but was wondering if their is a good client out there that allows downloads to be scheduled. I can use the windows scheduler to start the download but not to stop it.

I find Grabit is no good with SSL (at least not with Astraweb anyway). I use Altbinz, which works great for me.

Sabnzbd for power users, but if you find that too difficult alt.binz has a nice GUI and does most of what sabnzbd. I know what i'd rather be using though...

I just use Newsbin and a scheduled task to start at 00:00 and stop at 10:00

OP said he was new to Usenet. I would say sabnzdb is a bit complicated.

Altbinz is an excellent client, and has a built in scheduler. It is also free, which helps

Thumbs up for sabnzdb from me, just started using it so I can manage downloads on my PC while browsing the net on my laptop in front of my tele.

But AltBinz is also really good, though I think the scheduler seems a bit weak or maybe I just failed at using it.

I've got SABnzbd on my 4 watt NSLU2, accessed via web interface. It's brilliant.

Alt.Binz is good too.

I would recommend installing both Sabnzbd and Alt.Binz and see which one you find easier to use

Yeah i do love just bookmarking whatever i want where ever i am (even on my phone) and my download box just chugs away in the background.

On top of that Newzbin saved searched fed into its RSS feed reader work perfect for auto downloads of whatever i want

You don't get any better than Sab when it's set up right.

What problems are you getting. I use Grabit, SSL and Astraweb and it maxes my line out (off peak).

I always had task scheduler end newsleecher before 8am every day. Why cant yours? :?
