What does everyone use for there newsgroup needs?

I'm still getting used to mac OSX and im duel booting with Windows 7 ATM in till i can find good enough replacements.

The one i am having problems with is a newsgroup reader/downloader. On Windows i used Grabit (Mainly due to the fact it repaired files with PAR files on it's own after checking the download.

So what do you guys use as your client? And also to repair files? Before Grabit added that feature on Windows i used Quickpar, is there something like this for OSX?

I personally love Sabnzbd+ 0.5

Drop NZB files into a directory of your choice and then it does all the work, downloading, repairing, extracting and dumping the file to another directory of your choice... All with a tidy browser based interface.

sabnzbd+ for sure. Once installed requires no work. Download your NZB (or use the newzbin integration if you prefer) and then come back and it will have been repaired/extracted/sorted into file type as above.

I've been using Unison, always mean to give Sabnzbd+ a go but I don't like the interface :p I suppose once it's all up and running that's it, you don't need to do anything.

The "Plush" theme for SABNZBD+ gives you a fair few more options as well.

eg. the ability to deselect certain files from being downloaded within a .nzb by using checkboxes. Try doing that with the default theme! Nightmare.

On Mac it's super straight forward! :D Drop the app into applications, then run. It should auto pop up, but if it doesn't goto localhost:8080 ...

At work right now but more than happy to right a quick guide with screenies if useful later this after.

Just open the dmg file, a bow will open, drag the app to the applications shortcut next to it.

Then go to your applications folder, open it and it will open a browser window, this is the setup.

After all is setup go to http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/

download your .nzb file, go back to your localhost tab and click add NZB. then you can close the tab, in the menu bar you will see a new icon on the right (a downward pointing arrow) and download speed with time remaining, when it's finished downloading it will repair and extract it.

Click the arrow in the menu bar and go to completed folder and you will see your downloaded file ready to use :)

Your welcome. Im loving how you can just leave it and it does everything for you :) and the fact it's just a icon in the menu instead of a full app sitting there is awesome :)
