I am with newshosting.com and I have been for over a year but in the last 3-4 months at various times my download speed on there will drop down to about 200k/s and im on a 10mb connection with ntl.

Last night I used newshosting.com and downloaded a file and it would only get to a max speed of 220k/s. I signed up to giganews and when I used that to download the same thing, my speed maxed out to 1.2m/s.

My connection does get maxed out on newshosting.com but the speeds go up and down too much. Is there anything I could say to newshosting.com for them to try something or is newshosting.com's service going down the drain?

Thank you for your input and suggestions :)

i have a newshostings account, and ive just been upgraded to adsl MAX 8mb, ill try it tomorrow when i get to uni. i hope that it is ok as i dont really want to get a giganews account as that is an extra $10 a month and i cant see that being worth it. if i get good speeds then it might be worth emailing them.

how many conections are you useing?

Thanks for checking yours out for me.

I am using 8 connections. I don't really want to spend an extra $10 but if I can't get the speed then its not that good really. I wouldn't mind it being 500-600k/s but going down to 200k/s is a bit too slow.

Well i've only got 2Mb broadband but it usually maxs that out on four connections at 230Kbs. Not sure if it's much help.

But they seem pretty decent at answering their e-mails, so just send them one and ask whats happening with it.
