Usenet speeds

Hi guys,

I just recently jumped on the usenet bandwagon and was wondering if there was a way to speed up the download on a single thread?

If it is using 10 thread it flies at like 36mb, but when there is a large single file it will be about 3mb, is this normal?

My provider is newsdemon, thanks for any help

Pretty normal, but you could try running SG TCP Optimizer

Doesn't matter if it's a large file or not, a newreader grabs in chunks. So if you have 10 connections it'll use 10 connections.

What newsreader are you using?

Just checked my Supernews, with 1 connection I can pull 2.5MB/s.

So probably your provider
