User CAL or device CAL?

Evening folks, I am about to buy server 2012, I am going to be using it on a media server, my question is this, do I need a device CAL or user CAL?

I am the only person that will be using said machine.

User CAL - each user accessing the server needs a CAL

Device CAL - each device accessing the server needs a CAL

Based on your post, go for User CALs

Oh, just a thought - Server 2012 Essentials is CAL-less (it's licensed for 25 users out of the box).

How much is Essentials? as I can only see it for about £125 with a quick search, is this looking correct? as I was really hoping for more the price of home server....ofcourse if I must I will take the hit.
