i have 4 users on this ere pc , and for some reason on my desktop windvr and c&c generals doesnt work ????????? tried uninstalling and reinstalling again no difference ,and on one other the desktop resolution drops down to 640*480 8 bit when he logs in ???
there is nothing running on any desktop that is different to any other i've run task manager and checked that there are 4 instances of everything so whats going on ?

Has it ever worked?

What gfx card you got inside?

Any error messages?

good point that, no it never worked , in generals i get the error message that i have not got direct x installed or my graphics card just isnt up to scratch lol which is just not true or it wouldnt work with the other 3 users and i have lots of other games installed that work fine
windvr3 the program works but will not close just freezes up
running a 6600 gt with latest drivers winxp second edition, nforce 4, amd 3200 939 and 1gb ddr 400

I can never understand why people have multiple users setup for home use, it always creates problems.

Go into "Control Panel" and into "User Accounts" and remove all unnesessary users leaving just the one "Computer Administrator" Account. Then try re-installing C&C and anything else that doesn't currently work.

Make sure all drivers and directx are up to date and you should be fine.

Would also be good to do a virus check etc at this point cos some virii can mess around with user accounts and resolutions etc. Best to use the following software which is all free to download:

because we have 4 users with 4 seperate email accounts and all have there own personalities and user preferences for games applications and explorer favourites and such

i have virus firewall and adaware programs all running and updated and working
at the moment i have no intention to create new users if this could be a small problem , if i cant sort it then i will just create an extra user for the offending user then delete the old one after copying all data across from docs and desktop and app data , but i am trying to avoid doing this if at all possible
