Username and password Window code !?

Hi all, I'm building a website for a uni project and I need the username and password window to appear when a link is clicked. It doesn't need to 'work' as such, i just need that pop up to appear when the link is clicked..

How do I do it!?

Do you mean a javascript popup, or just a new window?
