I need to make a part (shown below) shorter, but whenever I use dynamic edit it just subtracts the length from the ends, which messes up the holes etc I've got there.

Surely it's possible to subtract a section from the centre of the part without having to draw the whole part again?

Anyone know what command I should be looking for?

The part:

Cheers.

P.S - I know SolidEdge is crap but it's what I'm stuck with, so don't bother with the whole "use a good CAD package" stuff please.

P.P.S - Sorry for cross-posting dons, but really need to get this done quickly and I know there's plenty of CAD users here that don't visit the software forum.

Don't know anything about that software, but can you not go back to the initial 2d drawing, change the length there, and dimension the holes off the ends?

I didn't draw it as a sketch, I made the full block then did cut-outs for the curves etc, so I can't dimension the holes off the ends (not to my knowledge anyway).

Looks like I'm going to have to draw the whole bloody part again just because I want to take 5mm out of the middle.

EDIT: Never mind, I've found a way to shift the holes up before shortening the part, need to re-do the rounding of the edges etc, but that won't take as long as looking for a more suitable command.
