Morning people

We want to add a user to our active directory as well as their own email in exchange. The user is joining us shortly but as we have a nosy office we don't want their name showing in the global address book. Is their any way of making a hidden user? We are using Server/Exchange 2000.

Thanks for your time.

create a new container (or OU to give it its proper name) and call it hidden. Change the properties of this object to remove the read priviledge for normal users. This will prevent other users from being able to see it

when their account goes live, move it back to the normal OU that the rest of your users are in.

Containers and OUs are two different things mate...

Can't you just hide them from the global address list by clicking "Hide from Exchange" option under the exchange tab of the user?

Surely this is the only answer needed?
It is the method we use - create the account and then hide from the Global Address List.
