Im moving houses soon and I'm trying to use up as much of my pantry as possible, and see if I can have some fun cooking along they way. I have a huge bag of cornstarch (like 1lb) but rarely use the stuff (in fondues and for gravies).

Just wondering if their are things like gluten free cakes or cookies made primarily from cornstarch that anyone has any experience with. It does look like you can substitute small amounts of floor for cornflower, but how far can this be pushed?

Any other uses that would use up a fair amount?

Turkish delight. That'll eat up some of it. If you have a pound of corn starch, then you'd need to make about 5kg of it (admittely its still mostly sugar).

Cornstarch jif lemon juice and sugar. Cook it in a Ian for a few minutes until thick and poor it over some cooked chicken. Cheapo lemon chicken.

Compact it into bricks, wrapped in tin foil and cling film and hide it in the loft, under a loose floorboard or the back of a built in cupboard/airing cupboard.

Should give the new owners a bit of a surprise.

This!

You can use it to make Chinese food eg stir fry sauce

1 tablespoon of light soy sauce,
1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
1 tsp sugar or honey
1 tsp corn flour
1 tablespoon hot water

Mix the cornflour and water together first
